Week 10 Term 3

This week was the big lead up to Calf Club Day and the end of term.
We had more Maths tests to gauge progress made over the term and also some pretests in preparation for next term which will help guide our teaching.

Topic inquiry projects were completed, presented and evaluated. On Wednesday we had a PE session for Rimu students to practise their field and track events and then the RICH reward afternoon where deserving students had the choice of devices or a movie and popcorn.

Thursday morning saw all the Karaka and Rimu students out in the courtyard busily making their indoor creations- flowers and colour everywhere and a hive of industry.
In the afternoon, once the children had gone home, the judges came around and scrutinised the entries, eliminating some until they made their final selection. The rooms looked wonderful with their colourful and creative artwork and all the indoor and baking entries providing a splash of colour.

On Calf Club day it was great to catch up with community members, past pupils and families of students. Some of the projects were really impressive and the gardens proved to be a very popular option this year. There was lots of food available, some great bargains to be had and everyone found the animals interesting to watch. Rimu students manning the Nerf the Smurf and Zombie Throw did a great job running the activities and all up we made about $300 from our stall.

We hope everyone enjoyed the day. Best wishes for a relaxing holiday break.
