week 7 term 4

This week the year 6 students who have all given service to the school as Peer Mediators, Sports monitors, Road patrollers , receptionists and librarians were rewarded with a trip to Rainbows End.

The rest of the class along with a group from Room 4 enjoyed a quiet day. We had a special guest from the Kaimanawa Heritage Horses come and talk about their work and how it impacts on conservation and we watched a wonderful video of the latest muster of the wild horses, a topic which is being researched by Sadie and Leone.

On Tuesday, Harry and Josh accompanied Mr Williams to a local meeting about the contamination of the beach at Clarks Beach which means it is unsafe to swim there. this was a topic they were investigating so now have first-hand knowledge.

Some of our children have been taking part in the Waiau Pa 's Got Talent  with audition being held at lunch  times. The final is next Tuesday afternoon- great to see students pushing themselves out of their comfort zone to perform in front of an audience.
We have been having extra practices of our Rimu items so that we put on a great performance for prizegiving.

Swimming starts next week so students are reminded to bring togs and towel in a named bag each day.
We enjoyed summer sports- t ball, non-stop cricket and rounders on Friday.

Our Player of the week was Jayden while Jamie scored the most points on Mathletics.
